A Recipe For Disaster They moved on down the long and winding road, happy in the knowledge that they had helped the Druids and learnt to use their healing rune, As they passed by a small flower meadow enclosed by a high fence, they noticed a woman lying face down the other side of the fence. The Mighty Fred helped Sigismund over the fence and the duck landed with all the grace and elegance of a ... duck. Once Sigismund had straightened his bill, he checked the woman over. Noticing that she was in a bad way, he asked for Sorrell to join him. The party gradually gathered in the meadow, whereupon they noticed a second woman, also in a bad way. Both were unconscious and had clearly been stung repeatedly by bees. Seeing a hut, they set off to put the women in it and provide some degree of comfort, when they noticed the very dead (as opposed to slightly dead) corpse of a man off to the side, also stung by bees.  They gathered in the hut and decided to bring the women round. They told a story of flower gathering and frenzied bee attacks and the party sent for the nearest villages headman, who hurried over with the girls father, as soon as the headman had had his dessert. Meanwhile, they investigated the nearby hives, finding the bees behaviour rather unnerving and abnormal, as Sorrell could tell them, since she was reading To bee or not to bee, the ultimate guide to Beekeeping. After some time, they decided to smoke the hives out. This went badly, and so they decided to set fire to them instead. As this was going on, they noticed that he stream at the back of the hives had withered and misshapen plants along its banks - a sure sign of chaos, as Sigismund pointed out. They tracked the stream into town, following the mark of chaos, which lead them to the back of the pie shop. The Mighty Fred and Eloise went in to quiz the owner, which did not go well. The Mighty Fred then decided to camp near a hole leading into tunnels at the back of the pie shop, since he thought this the source of the chaos. After several days, Sigismund and Edwin had recovered from their bee stings under the tender care of Sorrell and they mounted a recce into the tunnels. The tunnels were not extensive and they soon came upon a Trollkin eating from a writhing mass of sludge and tentacles - almost certainly a chaos beast! A battle followed, with the party triumphing with some ease over the Trollkin and the chaos beast, with The Mighty Fred especially blood spattered at the end - they even found some treasure. A little investigation showed that the chaos beast had got itself trapped, partially in the pie makers oven and was being used as a more or less endless source of meat by him due to its regenerative powers.
