One Stage Before

Runners: The Colonel, Thin White Duke, Mercury, Lilith, Martin, The Old Father , Tara

The runners were  hired by Mr Johnson  to investigate death threats against Lew Allenby the head of Caravan - a company that managed rock super-group The Shadows. Allenby does not take the death threats seriously and refuses to cooperate with a conventional investigation.

The runners visit Allenby who kicks them out of his office wanting nothing to do with them. As they leave the meet Wallace an FBI type investigating Allenby . As the runners wander back home a Lone Star patrol car tries to cut them down (unknown to them Allenby’s been killed and they been charged with murder). A running fire fight ensues, which rapidly escalates out of control involving SWAT teams and police Helicopters, (Tara)  goes down hard taking on an assault helicopter using a pistol!  She survives but is hospitalised . Unable to contact Mr Johnson the runners rightly work out they’ve been set-up.

They’re then contacted by someone who claims to know Mr Johnson, this  is Meta who tells them Mr Johnson’s real name Jonathan Teague and he works for a company called Highstar who are trying to get control of The Shadows and their multi million nuyen contract.

Later Teague contacts the runners saying he wants to explain everyting, the runners go along and walk into an ambush, obviously Teague wants then dead! Surviving bloodied but unbowed, they are then contacted by Allenby’s secretary who tells them she knows they didn’t do it as she knows Allenby was alive after the runners left his office. She also tells them that Wallace was sniffing around. She suggests the runners talk to The Shadows as they may have some info. And send them invites to a glitzy party. Teague turns up at the party and the Runners chase but lose him.

The runners then make contact with the Nightstalkers a go-gang led by Jetblack ( a vampuire)  a former musician and friend of Allenbys he gives them a passkey to a secure area in Allenby’s computer system. There the runners discover that Allenby was killed using a booby-trapped simsense chip. As they ;leave Allenby’s office they meet Wallace again who says he wants to take down Teague but can’t do it legally himself, he gives the runners pass codes for Highstar’s system. They don’t find much to incriminate Teague directly but do track the decker who created the dodgy simsense chip.

Deciding a frontal assault is the only option left they get the Nightstalkers to create a diversion and hit Allenby’s place hard looking for and ultimately finding incriminating evidence.
