in Tshimsian. Researching Tshimsian they discover about the terrorist HNAL
group and its struggle against the Tshimsian government. On
their way to Kemano, a hotbed of HNAL activity, in the runner’s just manage to avoid being blown to smithereens
when a HNAL strike Team destroys a local bridge. Iceface’s vehicle
however take some severe damage. Reacting in true Shadowrunner style the part
kills the HNAL team and discovers on the body a book of matches for the Randy
Sasquatch. Heading to the Randy Sasquatch they discover that as “Anglos” they are not at all welcome. Martin
and Sister Bodycount provoke a bar-room brawl while Running Wolf
as a Native American keeps a low profile. After the fight is over Running Wolf sounds
off about Anglos and makes contact with Nightingale, a HNAL recruiter and
discovers the HNAL use a voice-mail system to disseminate info. The others
start asking around town about the HNAL and unfortunately draw attention to
themselves. Running Wolf reports back and sets out with Martin
and Queen Anne to recover the voice-mail system from the Randy
Sasquatch, which they do with ease. The others decide to take it easy at the
hotel and decide to booze it up. Unfortunately a HNAL steam, deciding the
runners are Government spies hit the hotel bar in force. A chaotic firefight
ensued, with pissed runners going down like nine-pins. Martin, Running
Wolf and Queen Anne arrive in the nick of time to help their team
mates and get out of town before the local fuzz arrive. Contacting Joe, he
put them in touch with a local Shaman who was able to heal them. Cracking
security on the voice-mail system the runners discovered that Wallace
Blackwood, a high-ranking HNAL officer is on his way to an abandoned US
weapons lab off the coast. The
team hurriedly arrange transport and head off to Klawock . In the
subterranean corridors of the abandoned base the run into Blackwood and his
troops and come off worse, barely escaping with their lives as Blackwood
blows the base up. They did manage to find out that the HNAL have obtained
samples of a virus called Red Masque. On
their way back to the mainland they hear a newscast about a “Dead Zone”, a
place where all mammal life has been killed off. Heading there the runners
have a run-in with a go-gang, Sister Bodycount was badly wounded the go-gangers appear to
have been infected and the runners learn they spent some time in an abandoned
cabin a few miles away. Heading there the runners discovered this cabin was
the HNAL base for a field test of Red Masque, they also discovered a computer
storage chip with deckplans of a
ferry and a position reference on a nautical chart. Heading
back to Seattle, the runners get Sister Bodycount and Queen Anne
to hospital and call up Crazed
Jake and Barger as reinforcements. Hiring a chopper they
headed off to catch up with the ferry, currently on its way to Kitimat, the
capital of Tshimsian. Arriving in the middle of a storm, they discover the
ferry has been taken over by terrorists.
The runners relatively easily disposed of the terrorists and
discovered a suspect truck. Red Hammer, egged on by Martin
opens the truck to see if it had the virus canisters, It did! Unfortunately
it also had a rather nasty explosive device which went off with a rather
large explosion. Barely
making it alive off the sinking ferry the runners returned to Seattle to
discover that Farseer was not happy, although they’d saved the humans in
Kitimat, the virus had been released into the ocean and killed large numbers
of sea creatures before being sufficiently dispersed and becoming harmless.
She refused to pay them the balance of their fee and vanished into the
wilderness. |

implements "Operation Extermination," a large-scale physical and
magical assault on the insect spirits infesting the Chicago Containment Zone.
The Chicago quarantine is officially lifted in President Haeffner's State of
the Union address. Ares
uses FAB Strain III, an astrally active bacteria, to target Bug Spirits in
the Zone. Unfortunately, strain III does not restrict its depredation to
insect spirits -- it affects any astral object or being. |
